Kalicharan Maharaj, who made controversial statements and indecent remarks against the father of the nation Mahatma Gandhi during his speech in a two-day event named “Dharm Sansad” at Ravana Bhata Maidan in Raipur 26/12/2021 (Sunday).

Due to the controversial statements made by him on Mahatma Gandhi in a two-day program at Ravana Bhata Maidan in Raipur on 26/12/2021 (Sunday), the sentiments of some politicians have been hurt by Maharaj Ji’s statement and it has become the topic of discussion in media.

On the complaint filed by former Raipur Mayor and Congress leader Pramod Dubey, the police registered the FIR under section 505 (2), 294 IPC in the Tikrapara Police station and he has been arrested under a sedition charge by the Raipur, Chhatisgarh police on 30/12/2021 (Thursday) at 4 am morning from Khajuraho, Madhya Pradesh (MP) without informing MP Police (which was under BJP government).

As soon as Kalicharan Maharaj was informed about presenting to the court on 30/12/2021, a large number of supporters reached the court premises. Apart from this, the team of lawyers had also reached. Considering the seriousness of the atmosphere, a police force was also deployed.

On the other hand, Hindu organizations demonstrated fiercely at Tikrapara police station. Slogans were raised against Congress and continued to oppose the arrest, along with this slogans were raised fiercely in the court as well.

On 31/12/2021 (Friday) evening Kalicharan Maharaj was sent to judicial custody till January 13; the Bail petition was rejected by the Raipur court.

While going to jail, as soon as he said in a loud voice that all Hindus should unite, the hands and feet of the policemen started swelling, soon after which they were taken inside by the police personnel through a small gate.

Now the situation has become such, that the Congressmen have shut their mouths, avoiding the criticism of Maharaj. At the same time, many Monks like BJP and Prabodhanand have opened a front against Kalicharan Maharaj.
