He was born on 4 July 1996 in Gada village of Chhatarpur district. Dhirendra Krishna Shastri’s childhood was spent in his own village. He belongs to a poor family. He got his early education from the government school in the village itself.

This is the origin of Bageshwar Dham, on the people’s trust, Bageshwar Dham is located in Bhoot Bhavan Mahadev Garha and it is a Siddha Peeth of Chandel period. The temple was constructed by the villagers in 1986, after that in 1987 Baba Pandit Setulal Garg of the village reached Bageshwar Dham after receiving initiation from Chitrakoot, after which a big Yagya was added in 1989. After this, Bageshwar Dham started becoming famous.

Initially, Bageshwar Dham was managed by Dhrindra Krishna Shastri’s grandpa where he was organizing the Darbar (divine court) and helped the needy people. After his death, Dhrindra Krishna Shastri started the darbar following his grandpa. In the beginning, Darbar started with very few people, and afterward, he became famous for his work. Today the darbar has a crowd of lakhs of people and getting organized in many other districts and states of India.

It is also said that Dhirendra Krishna Shastri can write people’s problems on a piece of paper without asking the affected person. Dhirendra Krishna Shastri has gained the support of various Hindu organizations who claimed that he is being targeted as he has challenged religious conversions and even carried out ‘Ghar wapsi (reversion to Sanatan Dharma or returning to home)’ of people who had renounced their faith.

He is known for reverting around 300+ Christian families approximately a whole village to Sanatan Dharma in Chhattisgarh during Christmas. About 500,000 people came to his divine court on January 20, 2023. Till now he has done 5000+ Ghar wapsi in the last few years.

On January 22, 2023, several Hindu organizations protested at Jantar Mantar in New Delhi in support of Dhrindra Shastri, the head priest of the Bageshwar Dham government.

Presently serving as Peethadhishwar and head of the Bageshwar Dham Sarkar, a Hindu pilgrimage site in the Chhatarpur district of Madhya Pradesh. Shastri is known for his preaching of Ramcharitmanas, Tales of Hanuman, and Shiva Purana.

Subsequently, he set up an Annapurna Kitchen at his Dham, which provides free meals for his devotees. Dhirendra Shastri is making a positive impact in his district through his good deeds.

Every year, he holds an annual function to marry off poor girls. He is also establishing a Vedic Gurukul to promote ancient Vedic studies and Sanskrit. In addition, he is working to build a hospital in his district due to the lack of adequate health facilities, to help those in need.

He came into trend when a man named Shyam Manav from an organization named Akhil Bharatiya Andhashraddha Nirmoolan Samiti, Nagpur, Mumbai challenged him in the divine court and questioned his spiritual powers, Manav also accused Shastri of promoting superstition.

Bageshwar Dham Sarkar alias Dhirendra Krishna Shastri grabbed headlines late after a Nagpur-based anti-superstition organization challenged his miraculous power. It is claimed that 26-year-old Bageshwar Dham ‘Baba’ Dhirendra Shastri can grasp the problem without a person mentioning it to the ‘Baba’.

When the controversy started in the media, Shastri invited Manav to his divine court and asked what he wanted to know.
